Prof. Attahiru M. Jega, B.Sc. (ABU), M.A., Ph. D., Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria (BUK) and Dr. Murtala S. Sagagi, Head of Business Administration, visited Saint Mary’s University on Sept. 29, to Oct. 1, 2009 for the purpose of forging a linkage particularly on the Entrepreneurship program of SMU School of Business.

After the preliminary meeting in the morning, the two guests were shown around the college campus. They were brought to the Center for Entrepreneurial Development and Research (CEDER) laboratory rooms, the HRM lab, Assessment Center, Apo Pilo building, Main and Annex library, Teachers Center, and the Sacred Heart Center.

During the meeting in the afternoon, Rev. Manuel D. Valencia, CICM, SMU president, expressed his joy in welcoming the two officials/visitors from BUK. In response, Dr. Jega articulated his gratitude to SMU for the warm welcome and accommodations accorded to them. For their part, Dr. Sagagi and Dr. Gallato presented their programs to address the issues on faculty and student exchange. Other key persons from SMU present in the meeting were Dr. Evangeline B. Escobar, VP-Finance & Development, Dr. John Octavios S. Palina, VP-Administration, Dr. Nena P. Valdez, VP-Academic Affairs, Dr. Natividad P. Araneta, University Registrar, and Mrs. Caroline M. Acosta, Director of the Center for Alumni and External Affairs.

In the spirit of collegiality and to seal the friendship between the two universities, the visitors and Fr. President exchanged presents.
