SMU Has 5 New Marian Architects 1st Takers gets 80% Passing Rate

In the latest Architect’s Licensure Exam (ALE) held last June 7 and 9, 2013, SMU has once again successfully produced 5 new Marian Architects in the person of Arch. Rhuel Valentin T. Janer,
Arch. Jeric V. De Jesus, Arch. Aliresa U. Maraňon, Arch. Glennmille Niňo G. Ruiz and Arch. Gabriel
Jerome Y. Usi. In reference to the Performance of Schools released by the Professional Regulations
Commission Board of Architecture through their official website at, SMU garnered a passing rate of 55.56% which is above the National Passing rate of 50.99%.
Also, first time examinees from the University posted an impressive 80% passing rate in the recently
concluded board exam. According to Dr. Teresita L. Reyes, SOEA Dean, “we are happy with this
development, but the work doesn’t stop here, let this be an inspiration for us to study and implement measures to continually improve SMU’s performance in the ALE”
when asked for her comment on the recent board exam result.
Moreover, the dean also stressed the importance of the board exam result as further noted by the CHED PRC Technical Team which recently conducted a technical survey on the BS Architecture Program early last year,
which lauded the University’s consistent impressive passing rate in the ALE as its best feature of the visit.
SMU’s BS Architecture Program established in 2000, has already produced 43 licensed and registered architects scattered throughout the Philippines, and in other countries like Singapore and Middle Eastern Countries.
