1st Team Building Seminar of School of Health Sciences

By Joman J. Baliton, RN, MSN
Research Coordinator, School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences sponsored a whole-day team-building seminar for their faculty and staff at Sheila’s Resort, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya last August 7, 2010. The seminar aimed to strengthen the ties of the faculty members and to build friendship and camaraderie among its instructors. The seminar consisted of lectures on teamwork and energy activities which were facilitated by Mr. Bernard Pating of Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).

Pating discussed the most effective habits for personal leadership and professional growth and he talked about the best ways to achieve the goals and plans of the department by working as a team towards one direction.

The faculty members also had an open forum where they exchanged some of their views on proper team spirit and the vital role of teamwork in an organization. Some topics that emerged during the activity, such as temperament and personality tests, highlighted the areas where understanding is required among the faculty.

The School of Health Sciences is optimistic that having activities such as this would boost the department’s morale and would strengthen the relationship among its faculty.
