HEALTH SCIENCES TEAM BUILDING SEMINAR: STRENGTHENING ITS HUMAN RELATIONS
(by; Joman J. Baliton, RN, MSN)
The School of Health Sciences (SHS) sponsored a whole day team-building seminar for their faculty and staff at Jacinta’s Resort, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya last August 4, 2012. The seminar aimed to strengthen the ties and camaraderie among the members of the School. The seminar consisted of lectures on Enneagram facilitated by Dr. Edwin Edilberto N. Mania of the Guidance and Testing Office, SMU.
Dr. Mania discussed basic personality types and how the enneagram system works for personal leadership and professional growth. He also talked about the best ways to achieve the goals and plans of the School by working as a team towards one direction.
The participants also had an opportunity to further identify their basic personality type and shared their views on proper team spirit and the vital role of teamwork in an organization. Some topics, such as personality tests, that emerged during the activity, highlighted the areas where understanding is required among the teaching and non-teaching staff of SHS..
The School of Health Sciences is optimistic that having activities such as this would boost the School’s morale and strengthen the relationship among its members.
