Scholarships and Assistance Program

  1. ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

a. With Highest Honors: Senior High School students who graduated With Highest Honors with an average of 98.00% – 100% are granted a full-tuitional scholarship upon enrollment.
b. Fifty percent (50%) tuitional discount is granted to SHS graduates with High Honors with an average of 95.00% – 97.99%.
c. Twenty five percent (25%) is granted to With Honors with an aver- age of 90.00% – 94.99% from any recognized High School.

2. SERVICE GRANTS

a. The President of the Student Central Council, the Editor-in-Chief of the Marian and the Corps Commander of the SMU ROTC Unit are given service grants in the form of full tuitional discount. Other officers are likewise given 25% tuition discount

b. Varsity players and members of the SMU performing groups such as SMU Band, SMU Chorale, SMU Dance Troupe, SMU Artists Circle, etc.  are given tuition discounts ranging from 10% to 100%.

3. CASH DISCOUNT

Those who pay their fees in full within the first week of classes are granted a 5% discount.

4. SIBLINGS DISCOUNT

Brothers and sisters in the senior high school or college level are each granted a 10% discount on tuition fees.

5. DISCOUNT FOR WORKING STUDENTS/STUDENT LIBRARIANS

Students who render 2 or 4 hours of work in the university are granted tuition discounts of 21 or 24 units.

6. BIBAK DISCOUNTS

Students who are members of the BIBAK organization (Benguet, Ifugao, Bontoc, Apayao, Kalinga) may apply for 5 to 20 percent tui- tion discount.

7. THE SAINT MARY’S UNIVERSITY – SCHOLARSHIP AND DE- VELOPMENT FOUNDATION (SMU-SDF) GRANTS

This Foundation grants different scholarships, grants-in-aid, and assistance to various projects of the University. Some scholarships have specific requirements and are known under the donor’s specific name, while the others are general SDF scholarships.

8. SOCIALIZED TUITION FEE PROGRAM (STFP)

Poor but deserving students may be granted discounts from 10% to 100% of fees depending on need.

9. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

SMU students who meet the grade requirements can be granted 50% to 100% tuition discount.

10. TERTIARY EDUCATION SUBSIDY OF UNIFAST

Students whose families are in the Listahanan of the DSWD are granted by the government with 30,000 pesos subsidy per semester which can be used to pay the school fees.

11. OTHER GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

SMU accepts government scholarships such as those by CHED, Phil. Veterans Administration (PVAO), Dept. of Science and Technology (DOST), Military dependents in PD 577, PWD’s in RA9442, etc.

12. OTHER PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIPS

SMU assists students to obtain scholarships from private individuals, companies and organizations to support their study at SMU.
