SMU Declared Provincial Champion in the 29th Philippine Statistical Quiz

The 29th Philippine Statistical Quiz (PSQ) – Provincial Level was held on October 28, 2025, at the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office. The competition gathered 14 first-year college students representing seven (7) colleges and universities across the province.
Saint Mary’s University was represented by Mr. Helford Cristian Rick P. Siblag, a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) first-year student, and Mr. Aeron Kurt L. Flores, a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics (BSEd Math) first-year student. The team was coached by Mrs. Donna Bee R. Tominez.
Throughout the quiz, participants showcased their knowledge and skills in statistics, data analysis, and problem-solving. After a highly competitive round and a thrilling tiebreaker, Mr. Helford Cristian Rick P. Siblag emerged as the Champion, winning through a sudden death rule against the representative from Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) – Bambang Campus.
As the provincial champion, Mr. Siblag will represent the Province of Nueva Vizcaya, together with four other participants from different schools, in the Regional Level of the 29th Philippine Statistical Quiz to be held on November 6, 2025, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The event highlighted the intellectual excellence and competitive spirit of Nueva Vizcaya’s youth, while also reinforcing the importance of statistics in various academic and professional fields. SMU extends its congratulations to its representatives and coach for their commendable performance and dedication.
