SMU's President appointed as Member to PAASCU’s Commission on Tertiary Education

Saint Mary’s University (SMU) proudly announces the appointment of its President, Dr. John Octavious S. Palina, as a member of the Tertiary Education Commission of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) for the term May 2025 to May 2027.
This esteemed appointment is a strong testament to Dr. Palina’s leadership in advancing quality assurance and excellence in Philippine higher education. It also affirms SMU’s growing influence and active participation in shaping national academic standards and policies.
As a Commission member, Dr. Palina will work collaboratively with fellow members in operationalizing the Commission’s functions, review evaluation reports from PAASCU survey teams, and carry out specific tasks assigned by the Commission Chairperson in support of its mission.
