Junior Tourism Management students actively participated in a class-based seminar on Fundamentals of Travel Writing and Photography with Basics of Graphic Design and Magazine Lay-outing on July 9, 2024 at the Georges de Buscherre Function Hall. This is in connection with their enrolled elective course, Travel Writing and Photography (TMPE , where students exercise their writing skills in relation to travel, complemented by appropriate photos presented in a special issue of a travel magazine, serving as a major requirement of the course per group.

Marian alumni served as resource speakers sharing their invaluable insights about the course. Mr. Den Mark C. Lorenzo, BS in Accountancy 2017 alumnus and a former Editor-in-Chief of The Marian, discussed on Fundamentals of Travel Writing and Photography. Moreover, Mr. James A. Cafirma, BS in Tourism Management 2019 alumnus, former Chief Lay-out Artist also from The Marian, discussed the Basics of Magazine Lay-outing.

The TMPE 8 class is supervised by Dr. Mayvelyn S. Covita. Indeed, SMU HTM is faithful to its mission and will always be driven by excellence!
