“Click, Like, and Share” Trilogy Sparks Advocacy at SMU

All roads led to the Fr. Tonus Gymnasium from 6 to 8 October for the much-awaited “Click, Like, and Share” film trilogy produced by Optimum Minds MedIa Productions (OMMP) starring Michelle Vito, Akihiro Blanco, Miles Ocampo, Aimee Cañada, Katrina Legazpi, and Adrian Lindayag among others.
These three films aim to educate the youth on pressing issues such as mental health, cyberbullying, and HIV. Within the series are “Bluer than Bleu,” “Your Road,” and “Hi-Five.” Endorsed by UNAIDS, UNICEF, Positive Youth Development Network, the CBCP through its Episcopal Commission on Health Care and the Council for the Welfare of Children. The modules and other materials were reviewed by the Guidance and Testing Center and the University Health Services Office, and approved by the SMU Advisory Board and the Principals and Academic and Administrative Deans.
Speakers after the screening included experts on mental health (Mr. Christian Conard Guinto, Ms. Roilyn Duro) on cyberbullying (Mr. Karl Steven Maddela, Ms. Johanna Tulauan, and Engr. Ma. Elijah Pilotin) and on HIV (Dr. Ame Lopez). Also on hand was Keann Johnson, one of the actors in the films who encouraged the students and employees to be part of the advocacies on mental health, against cyber-bullying, and against HIV stigma.
The event was organized by the University Promotions and Information Office in collaboration with the Student Central Council (SCC), School of Accountancy and Business Central Council (SABCC), Student Council of Engineering Architecture and Information Technology (SCEAIT), Health and Natural Sciences Central Council (SHNSCC), Executive Council of the School of Teacher Education and Humanities (ECSTEH), the JHS and SciHS Marian Student Government and the Marian Central Board of Stdents (MCBS). Special thanks to the National Service Training Program Office, the ROTC officers and the Marian Emergency Response Team (MERT); in cooperation with the Physical Plant & Properties Development & Maintenance Office, the Publishing and Digital Printing Office, the General Services Office, the Multimedia and Technology Section of the University Learning Resource Center, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Safety, Sanitation, and Pollution Control Offices of the Junior High School and Senior High School departments, and all other units and offices involved.
