Fourth Year Civil Engineering students, together with their instructors Engr. Christopher P. De Vera and Engr. Jefrie T. Alindayu, visited the DOST–Forest Products Research and Development Institute (FPRDI) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna last October 6, 2025, for bamboo research testing.

This activity marks an important step in the ongoing development of a collaborative research agreement between SMU Civil Engineering and DOST-FPRDI, focusing on innovative uses of bamboo in construction and sustainable materials research.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the units and personnel of FPRDI for their warm welcome and for the insightful laboratory tour. Special thanks to Sir Oliver Marasigan, whose support helped make this meaningful event possible.
