An inspiring day of service and dedication: Saint Mary's University Grade School holds BSP & GSP investiture ceremony

The event took place at the SMU Main Campus Cornelius Tonus Gymnasium on July 31, 2025. This celebration of youth leadership and community service marked the SMUGS’s much-anticipated Investiture Ceremony for its young scouts. The event formally welcomed new members to the scouting movement and highlighted the school’s dedication to character building and nurturing the next generation of committed citizens.

The ceremony included Twinklers, Star Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts, Kid Scouts, Kab Scouts, and Junior Boy Scouts, who took their oath to uphold scouting values. Faculty members worked together as troop leaders, guiding the scouts on their journey.

Notable guests attended, including Hon. Dawn Ranee V. Algura, Mrs. Ferry Ann S. Castillo, and WSB Rod Delano S. Dacles. They led the investiture rites and encouraged the young scouts with their presence and inspiring words. Our beloved principal, Dr. Ma. Cristeta M. Aduca, expressed her pride in the students’ commitment to scouting principles. The highlight of the ceremony was the touching moment when parents placed neckerchiefs on their children. This act signified the scouts’ official entry into the organization and represented the strong partnership between the school and parents in shaping the scouts’ future.

The day brimmed with pride and camaraderie as the newly invested scouts stood tall, ready to start their journey of service, adventure, and personal growth. The Investiture Ceremony at SMUGS serves as a strong reminder that scouting is more than just an organization; it is a way of life that teaches valuable lessons and values that will last a lifetime.
