Marian bootcampers bring home awards

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Department of the School of Accountancy and Business is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 3-day Bootcamp and J-List experience organized by the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines at the National University – Fairview. As an institutional member of JTHMAP, the JTHMAP-SMU Chapter participated with outstanding results.

Among the 39 boot campers from 14 schools from Luzon, 1 school from Visayas, and 2 participating schools from Mindanao-a total of 17 schools nationwide- Ms. Meji Fatima Gomez achieved an impressive 12th place, while Mr. Johan Xian Tumaneng secured the 29th spot.

Additionally, Ms. Ma. Khurt Nicole Evangelista was recognized as one of the Top Green-Scout Innovators at the J-List 2024 EcoVolve, themed “Turbocharging Sustainable Innovations in Tourism and Hospitality Education and Research.” Together with Ms. Nicole Ann Belmil, they proudly secured a finalist spot at J-List 2024.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the organizing committee, especially our very own JTHMAP-SMU Chapter Governor Almyra Garcia, who also serves as the Regional Director of Cagayan Valley Region for the JTHMAP Regional Office and Apprentice for Public Information and Mass Media of the JTHMAP National Office.

Truly, HTM is true to its mission and will always be driven by excellence.
