PhD Commerce Alumni Receive Best Paper Awards in an International Research Conference

PhD Commerce Alumni of Batch 2022 Dr. Marjorie B. Ramel and Dr. Louwella A. Maniego were recognized with Best Research Paper awards during the TCU-RSF First International Research Conference on Multidisciplinary Studies for Scientific Writing 2023 held on May 18-19, 2023 through online presentations. Dr. Ramel’s paper is entitled “Social and Economic Needs and Contributions of Citrus Industry in Nueva Vizcaya: Basis for Inclusive Assistance Plan,” and Dr. Maniego’s research is entitled “Exploring Cooperatives Performance: A Balanced Scorecard-based Evaluation of Agricultural and Multipurpose Cooperatives in the Philippines.”

The international conference with the theme, “Mobilizing and Sustaining Academic Excellence in Research through International Publication and Collaboration,” was organized by Taguig City University (TCU) in collaboration with Research Synergy Foundation (RSF), the Network of Professional Researchers and Educators (NPRE), the Philippine Ethical Research Education Council (PEREC), and TCU’s school partners Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) and University of Perpetual Help System Laguna Campus (UPHSL).

Apart from being awarded Best Research Paper, Dr. Ramel was also recognized as Best Presenter and with the Best Abstract. This conference was attended by academicians and students from around 60 schools and universities in the Philippines and overseas. Thus, the scope of research presentation is indeed global and has reached numerous researchers across disciplines, thereby sharing with the community the results of each research being presented for further utilization. With this, Saint Mary’s University is truly a breeding ground for competent researchers contributing to society, as its Alumni are constantly inspired by its noble mission and passionately driven to achieve excellence.
