Saint Mary’s University is now an official Associate Member of the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA)

On January 28, 2025, SMU achieved a significant milestone with its formal acceptance into the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) as an associate member. This move aligns with the university’s  continued commitment to enhancing its academic offerings and a culture of continuous improvement.

As an associate member of the AUN-QA, SMU will actively engage in a range of programs and activities designed to improve the quality of higher education across the ASEAN region. 

One of the key advantages of this membership is the opportunity for SMU’s programs to be assessed by the AUN-QA network. This external validation will help ensure that the university’s educational offerings meet the highest standards of quality.

SMU’s participation in the AUN-QA community also enables fruitful networking opportunities. Through meetings, conferences, and collaborations with other member universities, SMU will strengthen its global connections, exchange ideas, and share experiences with peers committed to the shared goal of educational excellence.

In addition, as an associate member, SMU will have access to a wealth of best practices in quality assurance. By incorporating AUN-QA’s proven strategies into its framework, the university can further refine its programs and enhance the student experience.

This partnership with the AUN-QA is a significant step in SMU’s strategic direction to gain international accreditation for its programs, thereby providing its students with an education that is recognized globally for excellence.
