Saint Mary’s University proudly supports Mr. John Michael C. Ibarra, HTM department head, and Mr. John Rey C. Pinera, SAB faculty, as they participate in the CommTECH Camp: SDG Innovations at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia on February 3-14, 2025. This immersive program will explore innovative implementations of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), featuring dynamic courses, discussions, and hands-on societal engagement. Moreover, it also underscores SMU’s strong international linkage with other Asian HEIs.   

Mr. Ibarra has been awarded Best Participant at the concluded Virtual Commtech Nusantara: Wonderful Indonesian Cuisine, organized by ITS Nopember  last year. Mr. Ibarra’s exceptional presentation earned him a FULL SCHOLARSHIP to attend this year’s  Commtech Nusantara. He was not the only Filipino participant to receive this prestigious award, as Mr. Piñera was also admitted with a FULL SCHOLARSHIP, courtesy of SMU’s partnership with ITS signed on July 11, 2024.

Both Mr. Ibarra and Mr. Pinera’s achievements are a testament to the talent and dedication of Filipinos, and we congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition.
