SMU HTM holds research publication writeshop

HTM Research

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Department of Saint Mary’s University conducted its first online Research Publication Seminar-Writeshop, with the theme “Creative Sparks: Igniting Innovation and Imagination” on April 21, 2025 and May 14, 2025, respectively. The activity was spearheaded by research instructor and HTM department head, Mr. John Michael C. Ibarra, CGSP, CHP, MSHRM. The seminar-writeshop is an offshoot of the recently conducted first HTM Research Forum in December 2024. The event encapsulates the HTM tagline, known as 3i of HTM –  Inspire, Innovate, Influence.

The speakers were Dr. Daryl Ace V. Cornell, CGSP, and SMU alumnus Dr. Jonathan N. Tariga, CHP.

It was a challenging event for third-year BS Tourism Management and BS Hospitality Management students, who are enrolled in Research 2,  and all faculty members who are research advisers-collaborators, to publish their research in refereed journals or scopus-indexed journals.
