SMU receives provincial commendation for prestigious national and global achievements
Saint Mary’s University was formally commended by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya for its various international recognitions and distinctions on July 21, 2025. This included SMU’s ISO 9001:2015 accreditation and its recommendation for a Stage 2 Audit under ISO 21001:2018. SMU was also recognized for its Outstanding Global Performance in the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) and a High Ranking in the 2024 UI Greenmetric World University Rankings, showcasing its dedication to innovation and sustainability.
In a testament to its academic excellence, SMU was also lauded for ranking 75th globally and 22nd in the Philippines among the World’s Top Private Universities by the AppliedHE Private University Ranking in 2024. Moreover, the university was acknowledged for earning Level 2 Recognition under the Philippine Quality Award Regionalization Program and being granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education, signifying its exemplary performance and institutional maturity.
Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan personally extended their congratulations to SMU for these outstanding accomplishments, acknowledging the university’s vital role in elevating the province’s educational landscape on the international stage.
The prestigious commendation was held during the 3rd Regular Session at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, People’s Hall, Capitol Compound. The commendation highlights SMU’s unwavering commitment to elevating academic quality, enhancing graduate employability, and fostering global competitiveness across all its higher education programs.
