SMU Senior High School Faculty Earned Best Research Paper at NBESRC 2026

A faculty member from Senior High School, Mrs. Gleddy Mae V. La-Corda brought pride to Saint Mary’s University after being named Champion (Best Research Paper) in the Professional Category during the National Basic Education Schools Research Congress 2026, held on February 27-28 in Tuguegarao City.

The congress, hosted by the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao with Saint Mary’s University as one of its co-hosts, gathered educators and student-researchers nationwide to present studies addressing issues in education, society, health, and the environment under the theme “Research for a Sustainable Future”

Mrs. La-Corda’s award-winning study, “Evaluation of Student-trainees’ Competencies vis-à-vis Implementation of Work Immersion Program,” highlights the importance of aligning student competencies with real-world training experiences.

La-Corda’s recognition highlights the strong research culture of SMU SHS and the Institution’s commitment to producing meaningful and impactful scholarly work in basic education.
