3 SMU personnel take oath as officers of PCCI-Nueva Vizcaya

Three academic personnel from Saint Mary’s University (SMU) formally took their oath as newly elected officers of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) – Nueva Vizcaya Chapter. The induction ceremony happened on July 8, 2025, at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The event was a highlight of the 3rd Regional MSME Summit 2025 cum One DTI Services Caravan.

Dr. Harrison Villanueva and Architect Christopher Dominguez were sworn in as members of the PCCI-Nueva Vizcaya Board, while Mr. Joel Gabriel Espino, CPA, took his oath as Corporate Secretary. Their election occurred during the Reorganization of Nueva Vizcaya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Planning Meeting, held on July 3, 2025, at Disadeco Events Center.

Mr. Gary Chong, Regional Governor of PCCI Region 2, administered the oath. Key figures in attendance included officials from the Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 (DTI R2), led by Regional Director Ma. Sofia G. Narag, CESO V, and Acting Assistant Regional Director Atty. Michael Paggabao. Representatives from the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, various private sector partners, and members of the local business community also witnessed the ceremony.

This induction ceremony signifies a renewed commitment to private sector leadership in the province. It aims to further drive enterprise development and strengthen crucial public-private collaborations that foster economic growth in Nueva Vizcaya. It also highlights the university’s strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically: SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
