Sapientia A Deo Walk
Saint Mary’s University held its Sapientia A Deo Walk on August 18, 2025, at the SMU Four Pillars to formally welcome new students and employees into the Marian community.
The walk began at San Lorenzo Park, where participants proceeded to the University Arc at the Four Pillars for a blessing and a floral offering to Mama Mary at the oval. A welcome message was delivered by Dr. John Tayaban, Vice President of Administration, setting a warm tone for the event.
The celebration continued with a Flash Mob Unity Dance by the SMU Dance Troupe, followed by the opening of the Kalye Fair, which featured street food, games, and an open jam by the SMU Band. The program was facilitated by Mr. Reza Rahmani Jr., Mr. Campus Personality 2025, and Ms. Monica Joeanne Bullecer, Ms. Campus Personality First Runner-up 2025, who kept the atmosphere lively and engaging.
Alongside the walk and festivities, the Club Fair was also launched at the San Lorenzo Park, giving students the opportunity to explore and join various organizations within the university.
The Sapientia A Deo Walk serves not only as a welcome tradition but also as a meaningful start to the academic year, fostering unity, community spirit, and Marian identity.
