A Marian Shines Bright: Athena Lodevico's Journey to Miss Philippines Earth 2025

With grace, intelligence, and a steadfast commitment to the environment, Athena Inocencio Lodevico, a second-year Psychology student, proved that beauty truly has a purpose. Representing her hometown, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Athena secured a spot in the Top 10 of Miss Philippines Earth 2025.

From Campus Contender to National Finalist

Athena’s journey to the national stage was built on a foundation of early success. While in senior high school, she was named 1st runner-up at the Mr. and Miss SMU Campus Personality 2023. Building on that momentum, she competed as Bayombong’s candidate in Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2024, again earning 1st runner-up. These early achievements demonstrate her determination and purpose-driven spirit, which fueled her growth from a campus personality to a national contender.

An Advocacy Rooted in Action

Carrying the Marian spirit of excellence, Athena championed her advocacy, F.A.R.M. (Fostering Amelioration in Regenerative Agriculture and Mitigation). This campaign, which calls for sustainable farming practices to address climate change, is deeply rooted in the agricultural heritage of Nueva Vizcaya. Her passion for championing farmers and protecting the environment was a highlight of her competition.

In the question-and-answer round, Athena underscored the need for accountability. She urged fellow Gen Zs to take responsibility for saving the future of Mother Earth, emphasizing that this goal can only be achieved through sustainable actions, not just words.

A Journey of Growth and Gratitude

Describing her time in the pageant as a “journey of growth and gratitude,” Athena reflected on the experience as transformative. She expressed her deep thanks to her family and all those who supported her along the way.

“To my beloved Novo Vizcayanos who believed in me, cheered for me, and listened to my voice and advocacy—you are my heart and soul in this competition,” she wrote on social media. She concluded, “Hold on tight, because our journey is far from over. I will forever fight for our farmers and stand for the protection of our environment.”

Athena’s story continues to inspire the Marian community, proving that with faith, gratitude, and dedication, one can shine brightly while making a meaningful difference.
