OnioNet of Saint Mary’s University Wins 1st Runner-Up in National Digi Agri Hacki 2025

Saint Mary’s University proudly celebrates the OnioNet Team for securing 1st Runner-Up in the Agri Tech Innovate: Digi Agri Hacki organized by the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA–ATI), held on December 9–11, 2025 at the Rural Development and Education Center, ATI Central Office, Quezon City. The team is composed of BSIT graduates Jericho Pineda, Ken Quiambao, and Mc Osmund Espejo, with Ms. Rocel Audrey J. Batara serving as their coach. Their strong performance continues to highlight SMU’s growing presence in digital agriculture innovation.
OnioNet began its journey by winning 2nd place in the Regional Ideation Round, which allowed them to advance to the national Bootcamp and Mentoring phase. Here, they refined their prototype and once again stood out, placing 2nd overall among university teams from across the country. They later competed in the Final Demo Day alongside finalists from Cavite State University, Aklan State University, USTP–CDO, and MSU–Iligan. In her welcome message, ATI Director Recoter emphasized the importance of empowering the youth to develop IT-based solutions for the agriculture sector, a vision that aligns well with the purpose of OnioNet.
During Demo Day, the team presented their minimum viable product, demonstrating how OnioNet strengthens traceability, monitoring, and transparency in onion cold storage operations. Their clear value proposition and strong technical execution impressed the judges, allowing OnioNet to emerge as the competition’s 1st Runner-Up, placing them among the leading digital agri-tech innovators in the country. As one of the top winners, the team is also being considered for additional support and potential funding from ATI and its partner institutions.
This achievement reflects SMU’s commitment to shaping innovators who design meaningful, technology-driven solutions that directly benefit local communities. Congratulations, Team OnioNet, for bringing pride to Saint Mary’s University and for contributing to the advancement of Philippine agriculture.
