JTHMAP–SMU Chapter and Partners Receive Provincial Recognition Through Resolution No. 2026-6473 for Successfully Hosting the Philippine Coffee Brewers League (PCBL) 2026, Nueva Vizcaya’s First National Coffee Brewing Competition

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan transmitted a copy of Resolution No. 2026-6473 excerpt from the journal of the 49th regular session of the 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya held at the Session Hall, People’s Hall, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, on July 6, 2026.
June 28, 2026- The province successfully hosted the Philippine Coffee Brewers League (PCBL) 2026 – Nueva Vizcaya Leg, the first national-level coffee brewing competition ever conducted in Nueva Vizcaya, marking a significant milestone in the province’s continuing efforts to promote coffee excellence, enterprise development, tourism, and innovation within the specialty coffee sector.
On February 24, 2026 the first meeting was held with Mr. Mark Dhareen Cruz and Mrs. Xy-Za Faith Cruz of Felisa’s Grind and Brew in partnership with Saint Mary’s University, the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines headed by Mr. John Michael C. Ibarra, HTM Department Head, and Mr. Mark Anthony Domingo, JTHMAP-Governor. On April 29, 2026 it was followed by the 2nd Meeting with the HTM faculty Mr. Ibarra and Mrs. Jacalne, together with the partner host for PCBL.
The competition gathered sixteen (16) highly competitive teams from across Luzon, representing Benguet, Isabela, Nueva Ecija, Tuguegarao City, Zambales, Manila, and Nueva Vizcaya.
The successful hosting of the PCBL 2026-Nueva Vizcaya Leg has enhanced the Province’s reputation as a capable host of national industry events and has significantly contributed to advancing Nueva Vizcaya’s vision of becoming a premier destination for specialty coffee, agri-tourism, entrepreneurship, and sustainable local economic development.
The successful conduct of the competition was made possible through the exemplary leadership, vision, and initiative of Mrs. Xy-Za Faith Cruz and Mr. Mark Dhareen Cruz of Felisa’s Grind and Brew, in partnership with Saint Mary’s University, JTHMAP-SMU Chapter, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)- Nueva Vizcaya, industry partners, media partners, volunteers, and the local coffee community, whose collaborative efforts resulted in a well-organized and highly successful national event.
