SMU recommended for Stage 2 ISO 21001:2018 audit

Saint Mary’s University (SMU) achieved a significant milestone, having been recommended for a Stage 2 audit under ISO 21001:2018, the international standard for educational organizations’ management systems. This recommendation follows a rigorous Stage 1 audit on May 20, 2025.
Ms. Elizabeth M. Villezar of SETSCO Services Pte. Ltd., a respected Singapore-based certifying body, led the initial audit of SMU’s management system. The audit assessed compliance with relevant standards and regulations, evaluated system effectiveness, and identified areas for improvement.
The Stage 1 audit began with an opening meeting and a thorough site tour across all three of the university’s campuses. This was followed by a comprehensive document review of the university’s adherence to the ISO standard.
With Stage 1 successfully completed, SMU is now preparing for the final Stage 2 audit—a significant step in its ongoing pursuit of excellence in educational management.
