Mr. Samuel B. Damayon, Dean of Student Affairs and Services (DSAS), and Mrs. Pearl Via Coballes, Director of Institutional Development and Quality Assurance Office (IDQAO), were accepted into the inaugural University of the Philippines Los Baños Higher Education Leadership Mentoring Fellowship (UPLB HELM). The program, launched by the UPLB Office for Institutional Development in Higher Education (UPLB OIDHE), offers officials and administrators from partner institutions the opportunity to engage with leaders at UPLB.
The UPLB HELM aims to provide fellows with an immersive experience in UPLB, exposing them to the university’s best practices and leadership approaches. The program is designed to help fellows enhance their own institutions and develop their leadership skills.
Mr. Damayon will be immersed in UPLB’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs from October 14-18, 2024. Mrs. Coballes will participate in the program from November 11-15, 2024. Her immersion will involve learning from the Offices of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development and the Vice Chancellor for Administration.
Mr. Damayon and Mrs. Coballes were recognized during the 2024 Philippine Higher Education Leadership Summit held at the Charles Fuller Baker Memorial Hall, University of the Philippines Los Banos, on Oct. 15, 2024.
The UPLB HELM is a significant new initiative that will help to strengthen the partnership between UPLB and its partner institutions. The program will also contribute to the development of the next generation of higher education leaders in the Philippines. The program runs from September 2024 to November 2024
