Marians Bag Major Awards in International Research Conference

The School of Accountancy and Business received significant awards at the 1st International Research Conference in Business and Information Technology, themed “Innovative Strategies and Technologies for a Sustainable Digital Future in Business.” The conference was organized by the Cagayan Valley Computer and Information Technology (CVCIT) College in Santiago City and co-organized by other schools in the region. The event was conducted via Zoom last August 19, 2024.

For the business track, which was participated by student researchers from various institutions, including UNIPMA-Indonesia, CVCIT, PLT College, Saint Mary’s University, and Quirino State University, Edleya Gracielle N. Duran, BSBA Marketing Management alumna, presented their research titled “A Look at the Supply Chain Management of Citrus Wine in Nueva Vizcaya: The Citrus Capital of the Philippines and was awarded the Best Paper award.

Jericho F. Corpuz, a 4th-year BSBA Marketing Management student, emerged as the Best Presenter with their research entitled “Creative Marketing Strategies and Challenges of Resorts in Nueva Vizcaya.”  Dr. Harrison T. Villanueva was the adviser-promoter of both presenters.

For the professional track category, Mrs. Sheryl A. Adducul-Baria, a faculty member, was adjudged Third Best Paper for her study “The Disappearing Shelf Space Versus the Flourishing Virtual Newsstands in the Philippine Publishing Industry: The Case of ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc.”   The study was under the advisership of Dr. John Octavious S. Palina.
