SMUGS Honors Blessed Mother Mary's Birthday

Saint Mary’s University Grade School (SMUGS) marked the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a special holy mass and heartfelt celebration. The ceremony, held on Monday, September 8, 2025, was a day of deep devotion for the entire school community.
The holy mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Nemecio F. Huesca, CICM, who delivered a powerful homily emphasizing Mama Mary’s essential role in God’s plan for salvation. He reminded everyone that she brought Jesus into the world to save humanity from sin, making her birthday a truly momentous occasion.
The festivities began with a solemn opening procession led by Dr. Ma. Cristeta M. Aduca SMUGS principal reverently carrying the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The procession was made even more special by the school’s youngest students, who, dressed as “little angels,” joyfully showered the image with petals.
The celebration concluded with a moving tribute: a flower and prayer offering from students of all grade levels. Each class, accompanied by their respective class advisers and SMUGS campus minister, Sr. Mila Lumasac, SFIC, presented their offerings, creating a beautiful and unified display of faith and love for our Blessed Mother Mary. The entire event served as a beautiful testament to the school’s devotion and shared spiritual values.
