Next-Gen Hospitality: SMU’s Gold Standard in Hotel Reception

BAYOMBONG, NUEVA VIZCAYA — Saint Mary’s University (SMU) continues its streak of excellence as Ms. Jesusha Mae M. Cresencio, a standout from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SMU-HTM), attained the Gold Medal score in Hotel Reception at the 2026 Provincial Skills Competition on April 15. Hosted at SMU’s Georges De Busschere Function Hall, the event was organized by TESDA Nueva Vizcaya under Director Elizabeth G. Garcia.

Sponsored by SMU’s Equivalency and Technical Vocational Assessment Office (ETVAO), Ms. Cresencio was mentored by coaches Ms. Aryan L. Yuzon (HTM Faculty) and Mrs. Gayle R. Mercado (ETVAO Head). This victory secures her spot in the Regional Skills Olympics, representing both the university and the province.

This triumph advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), showcasing SMU-HTM’s dedication to equipping students with the world-class technical skills required to lead in the global hospitality industry.
