What better way to welcome the school year than by embarking on global mobilities?
As we gear up for the AY 2024-2025, we’re thrilled that four of our faculty and administrators have engaged in various international mobilities. Their global experiences allowed them to bring back invaluable perspectives and fresh ideas, profoundly enriching our institution.
Dr. Moises Alexander T. Asuncion, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Gerome H. Bautitsta, Head of the Department of Professional Education, attended the 9th Evaluation Meeting: Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia on June 21-22, 2024, at Wiang Inn Hotel Chiang Rai, Thailand.
During the meeting, they reviewed and evaluated the implementation of the 9th batch of the pre-service student-teacher exchange, considering best practices and lessons learned. Also, they discussed and planned for the 10th batch of pre-service student exchange.
On the other hand, two faculty members from the School of Health and Natural Sciences, Mrs. Maria Shiela M. Ramos, Officer-In-Charge of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, and Mr. Leonard Bulan, faculty member, participated in the Intensive Medical Technology International Mobility Program hosted by Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) in Thailand from June 17 to July 14, 2024.
They received extensive training in various medical technology disciplines at HCU and its partner hospitals and industries as part of the program. This initiative underscores their commitment to educational diversity, multiculturalism, and the development of stronger institutional partnerships.
This activity is a key component of the partnership framework signed between SMU and HCU in July 2023.
