Engr. Angelino A. Pimentel, PECE, receives BEST PRESENTATION AWARD at ICCE Berlin 2025

Engr. Angelino Angeles Pimentel, PECE, faculty member of the School of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (SEAIT) of Saint Mary’s University (SMU) and currently pursuing further studies (PhD) at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, was awarded the Best Presentation Award at the 14th IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE Berlin 2025) held in Berlin, Germany, on September 6–8, 2025.

Together with co-authors Dr. JiJer Huang and Dr. Aaron See, Engr. Pimentel presented their technical paper entitled “Integration of Photoplethysmogram Sensor to a Single-Board Computer with cBP-Tnet Edge AI for Continuous Blood Pressure Estimation” in Session #6: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence in Consumer Electronics.

The research was supported by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan, under Grant No. NSTC 113-2221-E-218-008-, and by the Center for Intelligent Healthcare through the Higher Education Sprout Project, funded by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan.

This international recognition brings honor to Saint Mary’s University, particularly to SEAIT, as it reflects the commitment of its faculty to contribute meaningfully to global research and innovation.
