SMU Guidance and Testing Office (GTO) and Saint Jerome’s Academy of Bagabag, Inc. (SJABI) Strengthen Collaboration Through Memorandum of Agreement

The SMU Guidance and Testing Office (GTO) strengthened its commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships and expanding support for students through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Saint Jerome’s Academy of Bagabag, Inc. on October 2, 2026, at the university boardroom, Saint Mary’s University.

The MOA signing brought together key officials and representatives from both institutions, underscoring their shared commitment to advancing student wellbeing and holistic development. Representing SMU were Dr. John Octavious S. Palina, University President and Dr. Edwin Edilberto N. Mania (Head of the SMU GTO). Also in attendance were Mr. Samuel B. Damayon (Vice President for Administration), Rev. Fr. Philip A. Yu Jr. (Vice President for Mission and Identity), Dr. Mary Grace M. Bulatao (Dean, Student Affairs and Services) and Sherween Jerry Paul Saquing (Head of the Promotions and Information Office). Meanwhile, SJABI was represented by Rev. Fr. Romulo C. According to Dr. Palina, this partnership builds on the longstanding relationship between SMU and the Diocese of Bayombong. Over the years, they have shared a commitment to advancing the mission of Catholic education and serving the holistic needs of young people. The signing of the MOA further strengthens this established relationship by creating a more focused avenue for collaboration in promoting student well-being, personal growth, and holistic development.

The signing concluded with the formal exchange of the signed MOA and a photo opportunity among the representatives of both institutions.
